A Halloween show to remember!

I geared myself up for this one, as I knew it was going to be a wild show! I arrived at the Manchester Academy in time for the second support act which was ‘Raging Speedhorn’ and oh my days, they were raging! They sure put me and my camera to the test! 3 minutes into the first song I am thinking am knackered! However I managed to keep up with each band member legging it from one end of stage to the other and Dan coming up close screaming his vocals into my lens! I loved every minute of my 3 songs! There were fans being pulled from the crowd, beer flying around, was just like the old days. These guys have been around since 1998 and don’t look like they’re stopping anytime soon.

Next up it’s Skindred and AC/DC’s Thunderstruck is playing before they enter the stage to warm up the fans (like they needed it) Here come Benji and co, the fans go mad. I’m trying like a mad woman to grab decent shots of Benji, which are drowning in a sea of red! I look at my screen and nearly meltdown there and then! I carry on like the total professional I am. Benji is a real showman and the crowd loved him. Throwing in their awesome set were their tracks “Stand for Something”, “Rat Race”, “Pressure” where Benji got the crowd to participate in this one which was brilliant! Then little later “That’s my jam” the crowd were split in sides to sing this against each other. With a 30 second sandwich eating competition failed to complete by an avid fan on stage, the whole crowd getting down on the floor and then jumping up to Benji’s command the fans sure were loving it. A change of tempo saw him sing an acoustic track which was very heart warming. One of my faves is “Nobody” so loved it when the set ended with this one. Then the encore was “Warning” with the crowd taking t shirts, cardis or whatever garment of clothing and flying it round their head for the helicopter. I am glad I stayed for this, what a fab round off to an awesome night. I will be back next time Benji! Enjoy my photos below.
