Manchester Academy – 29th October 2021

Glow Sticks and Lumious Clothes Galore!
Having never heard of this band, I didn’t know what to expect. I did a bit of research on them first and gave them a listen too, and had mixed thoughts. I arrived at the Manchester Academy for the band’s 2nd night to find it packed full of shall I say “younger people” I thought oh no lol. Don Broco opened to a loud screaming crowd, it’s clear to see they loved them! A Beckham lookalike in full red and white kit, star trek style opened the show, taken from the band’s ‘Manchester Super Reds No.1 Fan’ single. On bounced lead singer Rob to more screaming and waving arms around. I can describe the music as rock meets pop, very loud and very bright strobe lights, which lit up the whole pit and front rows! They perform a couple of their songs from previous albums including ‘Uber’ where Rob camps it up somewhat and pulls it off well! They play quite a few tracks from their new album “Amazing Things” and you would think it had been out for months the way the crowd join in! The whole place was bouncing from start to finish with a few having to be pulled from the crowd at the front, I nearly got a boot in my head at one point haha. Guitarist Si is the bendiest guitarist I’ve seen! Whipping his leg up a few times parallel to his guitar, had me in awe, as I would probably get a hernia doing such a move! Someone even passed a colin the caterpillar cake through the crowd and it made it to Si…it must have been his birthday. All in all what a performance from a band that are rolling with their style and it works!
Go check them out you won’t be disappointed!
Here are my photos from the night 🙂
